Japanese Shinto Treatments

Shinto is an ancient Japanese religion starting about 500 BCE (or earlier) with its roots focusing on creating harmony within our environments and appreciating the divinity within.

We have created four treatments combining a variety of therapeutic techniques woven seamlessly with traditional instruments and music of Japan.

Shakuhatchi - A bamboo flute (full body)
A relaxed pace treatment using fingertips & palmar pressure swirls at a medium depth to discover and relieve intricate areas of tension around the body.

Kodo - Drums & Percussion (full body)
An uplifting energetic treatment from light to very deep levels moving and shaking stress, tightness, and dullness away to the rhythm of Drums

Koto - Japanese Harp (full body)
A lengthening and nourishing treatment with varying speeds to unwind lengthen and stretch from head to toe. Some of the techniques are similar to modern sports massage, and Thai yoga massage.

Jodan -- Mixed Instruments (facial)
A variation of soft, circular movements, light butterfly type tapping, gentle pinching and smooth long strokes along the face, neck and scalp. This treatment combines lymphatic drainage, facial reflexology, fostering a glowing circulation of the face and scalp, a relaxed neck and peace.

Tomo - Mixed Instruments (whole body)
A mixture of all treatments (shakuhatchi, kodo, koto, jodan), mentioned in the Shinto range above
